the trio

Karola

Elssner

Karola´s sphere of responsibility in “DREI” is the deep and grounded sound with the baritone saxophone and the bass clarinet. She also enriches the trio with the duduk, a traditional wind instrument from the Armenian-Persian region. It´s timbre and tone colour is a feast for the ears and goes under the skin.

Karparov

Vladimir

Vlado´s job is mainly the soprano- voice or of the "Heldentenor". He comes from a Jazz background and is deep-rooted with the music of the Balkans. His energetic and powerful sound on the tenor saxophone and his virtuosity give spice and virulence to the trio.

Sidney

Pfnuer

Sidney as the founder and bandleader of this compact format writes an arranges most of the tunes and pieces for "DREI". The musical conception also is about that every title and each voice is specially fitted on the single player. Thus a rich sound picture and aesthetics can be developed and created for the listener and the audience.
